In a parallel universe, I wake up next to you,

Feeling your breath on the nape of my neck;

Maybe in a parallel universe,

I don’t have to yearn for your presence.

In a parallel universe,

I don’t have to swirl my brain,

Into a labyrinth of already overthought thoughts to make that call.

In a parallel universe, I go back in time, to the old town of Manali,

Sneak in to the terrace, listen to Elvis Presley’s , ‘Can’t help falling in love with you’ ,

While we slow dance under the blanket of stars,

Staring at your almond shaped brown eyes, your smile as bright as the sunshine,

The blush on your cheek, the moonlight shining on your forehead,

Your perfectly aligned teeth, I feel cursed with my oh-so vibrant memory!

I am not scared of my heart beating so wildly,

When I think about you.

In a parallel universe,

you and I don’t give up on each other.

Maybe in a parallel universe you don’t walk all over me and leave.

Maybe, just maybe in a parallel universe,

our love didn’t crumble under the weight of our egos.

Hello there…this is my first post/comment on your page, but I couldn’t let the moment nor this poem slip away without telling you that I’m grateful for the few minutes that when reading it I was reminded what falling in love was like. I am getting ready to sign divorce papers and move away from all I know for a year or so to renew and get myself back to loving this beautiful life. I actually smiled for a few minutes when reading your words, I love LOVE, I just need to know it loves me back again, and a vacation wouldn’t hurt, my journey begins this Sunday from Utah to Huntsville, Alabama where my sister lives and I hope to get to make sure I get this next chapter right, so grateful for your travels that I can read and see how beautiful the world really is when the last 8 years have been quite opposite for me, but I choose not to have a painful life anymore, and I will try and journal my way up and through, look for me somewhere, sometime, when you get a chance or even want to, anyway, you inspire and please keep going, keep loving and keep being amazed, you never know what’s around the corner, be safe and God bless🍓☀️☮️
