A second life – Part 1 : A second life – Part 1
A second life – Part 2 : A second life – Part 2
So fast forward to 2019, and I have made more friends and acquaintances than ever before. I am not shy to meet new people, or ashamed of myself nor insecure to think how others see me.
I have to point out though, that all through the process I’ve had a wonderful and loving support group to keep me sane, and question my methods when need be. A bunch of friends I now call family, and a home with my folks and brother is all I ever needed to keep me grounded and sane.
It also helps daily, to remember the man that I was. You’ve got to accept your past to take control of your future, and remember and enjoy the journey. These roots give me a much needed reality check every once in a while, and some necessary ability to be proud and love myself.
So after 3 years and 25 kilos lighter, I can finally take pride in the person I’ve become. I am far from my goals, they seem as further away as they ever were, but I have never been more ready to face them and crush them. In fact, I am only getting started.
